What is Ship-Thru?
Ship-Thru is a service offered by the motor vehicle manufacturers Ford, GM and Chrysler for the transportation of a vehicle from the producing plant, through our Windsor, Ontario facility or our Mississauga, Ontario facility and back into the motor company's transportation system. There is usually a handling fee added to the motor company's invoice to cover coordinating, shipping and paperwork.
Why should I use it?
Ship-Thru has been primarily used by companies who have large fleets of vehicles, or whose fleet is spread out over a large area or both. However we have proven over the last thirty years of Ship-Thru services the same advantages can be had whether you are a fleet of five vehicles or 5,000 vehicles. By taking advantage of the ship-through process, all fleets are able to control quality, consistency and cost.

Volume Discounts- Volume Discounts Efficiency - By using G.W. Anglin, the fleet operations manager is able to accurately forecast equipment requirements for the entire fleet. Field personnel will no longer be required to spend valuable production time sourcing equipment and suppliers.
Mileage - Because vehicles are transported by truck carrier or rail to and from our facilities, they are delivered to the end user with little or no mileage registered on the odometer. When your personnel take delivery of your vehicle it is ready for work. No more coordinating drivers to shuttle vehicles to and from a local upfitter, and risking damage to the new vehicle.
Scheduling - By using GWA and the Ship-Thru process, the fleet is able to control equipment installation schedules. The fleet operations manager is able to prioritize the production schedule to accommodate specific field requirements. The fleet manager and GWA personnel work together to coordinate the manufacturing, and delivery of materials and components, thereby ensuring the timely delivery of vehicles.

Credibility - Before G.W. Anglin Windsor facility and G.W. Anglin Mississauga facility were approved and assigned a Ship-Thru code, we underwent a review process by all three of the North American vehicle manufacturers which included a thorough credit check and physical inspection of our facilities. Electronic Capability - G.W. Anglin Windsor and G.W. Anglin Mississauga, as the Ship-Thru equipment installer, must satisfy the fleet's requirements regarding the electronic transfer of information by means of advanced computer systems. Anticipating these requirements, we have state-of-the-art systems already in place. With a fleet portal which allows fleet managers to pass on some of their responsibilities to the Department Managers who require vehicle replacements. Allowing the managers to participate in this process will greatly eliminate errors in vehicle orders
Liability Insurance - G.W. Anglin carries liability insurance to protect us and our fleet customers. Both facilities have fenced in compounds to keep your vehicles secure while in our possession.

Job Ready - The "Job Ready" vehicle is delivered to a dealer in the vicinity of the end user's location. No additional time or expense is incurred by the fleet at the using point to ready the vehicle for service.
Delivery Cost - Because the completed vehicle is returned to the motor vehicle company's traffic flow, there are no additional delivery charges. Ship-Thru charges are generally much lower than long distance delivery charges.
